When an FIT member falls ill and the sickness rights, according to the collective agreement with the employer, are fully used, the FIT Health Fund takes over and pays the sick leave to the member. This way, the fund compensates members for the loss of earnings after the end of traditional sick days with the employer. The amount paid out is 80% of the average salary for the last 6 months.
The documents needed are:
- Filled out application (form)
- Physician's exemption (Sjúkradagpeningavottorð)
- Confirmation from the employer that all sick days have been used (form)
- Should we use the tax relief (form)
- 6 last salary slips (launaseðlar)
